With so many things to plan and organise for your wedding, it can be easy to overlook the importance of your wedding cake. The cake is not only a symbol of your marriage but it also provides a very important focal point at your reception.

Whether you choose a tiered traditional iced wedding cake, chocolate cake creation or a beautifully decorated cupcake tower, we will work with you to ensure your Dessert Room wedding cake will be everything you dreamed of and reflect your personality and style.

It is advisable to call us to book an appointment time to best discuss your cake options, ideas etc, especially if you wish to visit us on a Saturday.

If you are able to do some research and preparation before meeting with us, this will ensure the process is most productive.

We suggest you get inspiration from our website, wedding magazines and the Internet and that you bring in photographs of any cakes that you like.

Also, think about your colour scheme, flowers, if you wish to save the top tier of your wedding cake for traditional reasons, how many guests you will be having and if the cake is to be served as dessert or as a small slice with coffee or to take home.

Booking a Cake

We often receive bookings up to 12 months in advance, especially from December to Easter. To ensure your wedding cake is created to your specifications we limit our bookings to 5 per week. Ideally, wedding cakes should be booked in at least 6 months in advance. Short notice requests can sometimes be accommodated.

Portion Guide It is not possible to be accurate with a portion size as one persons idea of a portion may not be another's, and a slice of fruit cake does not need to be as big as a slice of chocolate cake but here are some guidelines that will help.
